The World Forestry Charter Gatherings were revived in 1989 by the Baha'i International Community to commemorate St. Barbe Bakers' birth and to honor fellow Baha'is commitments to the environment. On this occasion in 1995, HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh addressed the gathering.
