“Achieving climate neutrality necessitates participation from everyone, irrespective of their background. Residents of a neighborhood build up the resolve for collective action when they are able to interact,” said Melania Mora from the Baha’i International Community Brussels office with regard to a series of conversations the office held with city representatives and think tanks, about climate change policy.

These conversations took place in the context of the European Union ‘Cities Mission’ project launched in April 2022. As part of this initiative, 100 cities across Europe were selected to achieve climate neutrality by 2030, paving the way for all cities across the continent to follow by 2050.

During the meetings, the BIC explored which conditions enable the development of individual and community capacity to identify problems and collectively devise the best approaches to address them.
