The Baha'i International Community and the International Movement ATD Fourth World organized informal breakfast dialogues with the wider UN community to engage across various sectors on issues related to Rio+20 and the Post-2015 development agenda. By bringing together a diverse group comprising of member states, civil society and UN agencies, the two organizations hope to create a space to identify and explore issues of common understanding and concern. The first breakfast dialogue (26 July 2012) addressed, among other things, the UN Task Team Report; the role of ECOSOC in advancing both processes in a coherent fashion; and the ways that civil society can contribute meaningfully to the multiple processes (informal notes). The second meeting (13 Sept 2012) focused on the relationship between the MDGs and the SDGs; the false dichotomies between the "green" and the "poverty" agenda; the contours of the evolving development discourse; and the need for a comprehensive and holistic approach (informal notes). The third breakfast dialogue, scheduled for 10 October 2012, will focus on the theme of inequalities.
