Rev. Oniyama was born in 1963 in Monrovia, Liberia. He is married to Oretha Phelps-Oniyama and has two children. He is the Senior Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in NJ. Prior to that he was the Youth Minister at the same Church where, among other activities, he led a delegation of young people to BWA Youth Congress in Houston, TX. Back in Liberia, Rev. Oniyama also worked with youth ages 5 to 13 at the Providence Baptis Church in Monrovia as a Junior Church Director and produced a radio program for Youth for Christ. He is cur-rently working towards his Doctorate at the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a concentration on The Preacher and the Message. One of the awards he has received was the Edward Lodwick Prize for Excellence in Preaching from the New Brunswick Theological Seminary
